Sling furniture is the modern choice for those seeking practicality

Estate items are manufactured using kiln dried Mahogany timber and are hand painted with multiple coats of marine grade paint to give a hard wearing and durable outdoor finish. Prior to painting the Mahogany is washed to remove some of the natural red colouring from the surface. It is then painted with filling coats and final coats. Between each application the furniture is sanded to create a high gloss, glass-like finish. The paint used is manufactured by Sikkens/Akzo Nobel, a world wide renowned supplier of marine paints and lacquers.
All Estate items are designed for full outdoor use but in the knowledge they will behave outdoors as all painted wood furniture or joinery would do.

An alternative to Wood, Mesh and Woven materials

Acid-etched glass table tops

Woven furniture retains the classic style of traditional wicker but with the added benefit of complete weather resistance.
All pieces are hand-woven over fully welded, powder coated aluminium frames, making the furniture both lightweight and highly resistant to corrosion.
Gloster furniture is made from the highest quality man-made fibre, soft to the touch and is supple, tear resistant as well as UV resistant. The polyethylene based, extruded and through-dyed wicker is insensitive to differences in temperature and extremely hard wearing.

Gloster offers a range of parasols to fit through many of their table ranges.
For tables without parasol holes, freestanding bases are available

Sling furniture is the choice for those seeking contemporary practicality, style and comfort.
Gloster uses the hightest quality TextileneŽ woven vinyl in their furniture. TextileneŽ is made by coating a high strength polyester yarn with a vinyl compound, creating a material that is easy to clean, resistant to fading, mildew, wear and tear even in the most severe weather conditions.
The main benefit of sling is comfort. When stretched taught between two side frames, sling provides a yielding seating surface that molds to your individual body shape.

For the 2008 season, Gloster has introduced a new stainless steel finish, being a combination of Shot Peening and Electropolishing.
Shot peening increases the hardness of the surface, making it more scratch resistant whilst electropolishing offers a corrosion resistant smooth and easy to maintain surface.
The combination of these two technologies results in a finish that has all the benefits of both whilst eliminating the chrome-plated look of traditional electropolished stainless steel.

Teak is a dense, close grained hardwood with a high natural oil content.
It is exceptionally hardwearing, highly resistant to rotting and is almost impervious to the effects of sun, rain, frost and snow and therefore is the ideal choice for outdoor furniture.
Gloster manufacturers from hand selected, finest grade teak dried in their own kilns.
All teak sourced by Gloster is from sustainable plantations.
