Barlow Tyrie teak furniture is made from first grade plantation grown teak (Tectona grandis) obtained from legal sources in Indonesia. Teak has a high oil content that makes it both stable and resistant to rotting when exposed to extremes of weather. This special quality makes teak the preferred choice for premium timber for outdoor furniture.
Outdoors and over time, teak will weather to a silver grey colour.

Barlow Tyrie aluminium furniture is manufactured from ‘virgin aluminium’, which means it is not reclaimed, thus making it stronger and longer lasting. It is chemically cleaned and then powder-coat the aluminium to prevent oxidation and ensure it gives long service.
PVC coated polyester non-stretch Textilene® and Jacquatex® yarns are used for the slings, making it strong, durable, mildew-resistant, flame-retardant and requiring little maintenance.
Sling production uses sonic welding, rather than stitching or glueing, to create an aesthetically pleasing product.
Barlow Tyrie uses 316 Marine grade stainless steel because of its high resistance to rust, making it suitable for use in costal and marine environments with the problems associated with lower grades.

Barlow Tyrie’s hand-woven furniture is manufactured from extruded polyethylene which is supple, weatherproof, hard wearing and will withstand extremes of temperature. Each piece is woven over an aluminium frame which has a powder coat paint finish applied to prevent corrosion.
Barlow Tyrie manufacturer their parasol canopies from 100% solution-dyed acrylic yarn, thus creating excellent resistance to fading often caused by sunlight and cleaning.
The fabric has a stain repellent applied to make cleaning easier, which should be re-applied following cleaning. It is recommended that the canopy should be regularly cleaned to prevent the accumulation of dirt in the fabric, which can encourage the growth of mildew.
